Love is the Air.. An Ode to Valentines Day

I recently read a quote from Rob saying:

"I'm looking for a girl with character. If I find her one day, do you know what I'll do? I am going to write her hundreds of love letters"

Since reading this, I've spent countless hours (that I'll never get back) dreaming about being that girl. I even began to imagine what a love letter from Rob would say (fun thought. Try it sometime) I became so enthralled with my parallel universe (the one where Rob and I are 'together') that I started writing responses to his imagined love letters *coughs*, but the blood loss was making me dizzy and that shit takes forever to dry, so In the end I thought it best to keep my written declaration of love to myself (that and I couldn't find anything to rhyme with 'bosom').

So, with Valentines Day just around the corner, and in the spirit of written correspondence, I thought I'd leave you with a few excerpts of the most beautiful sentiments of love ever committed to paper.

Read them in the spirit of love...

Read them and dream about inspiring this sort of passion...

Read them and dream about Rob...

Read them (slap me) and tell me to get a life...

"Carry me off into the blue skies of tender loves, roll me in dark clouds, trample me with your thunderstorms, break me in your angry rages...But love me, my adored lover" ~ Sarah Bernhardt to Jean Richepin, 1883

"A something in your eyes, and voice, you possess in a degree more persuasive than any woman I ever saw, read, or heard of... that bewitching sort of nameless excellence" ~ Laurence Sterne to Eliza Draper, 1767

"I have seen only you, I have admired only you, I desire only you" ~ Napoleon Bonaparte to Madam Marie Walewska, 1807

"All my soul follows you, love ~ encircles you ~ and I live in being yours" ~ Robert Browning to Elizabeth Barrett, 1846

"Places that are empty of you... are empty of all life" ~ Dante Gabriel Rossetti to Jane Morris, 1870

"You have absorbed me. I have the sensation at the present moment as though I was dissolving" ~ John Keats to Fanny Brawne, 1819

"I have told you my passion, my eyes have spoke it, my tongue pronounced it, and my pen declared it;... Now my heart is full of you, my head raves of you, and my hand writes to you" ~ George Farquhar to Anne Oldfield around 1700

Happy Valentines Day
Love,
Tess

My Lovely Tess,

What a beautiful post. I've never really imagined what it would be like to be the recipient of letters such as these. But, I think I'm going to give it a try :)

And, to receive a love letter from Rob?! *thud*

<3 you!
